Why am I not getting interview calls?
Most missed callbacks come from one of three places: a resume that does not show results, roles that do not match what your resume signals, or applying above or below your level. Upload your resume and the role you want; Lala, SevyDevy's AI mentor, tells you which one it is and what to do this week.

After that, a quick check costs 20 credits and the ATS check 50 credits (Advanced from 30 credits), refunded if a check fails. How credits work
- Three causes checked, the main one named
- Every finding quotes a line from your resume
- Your file is not kept, and your report is private
Why do resumes get no callbacks?
Silence usually has one of three causes. Each leaves signals you can spot in your own resume and job search.
| Cause | Signals in your resume or job search | Fix this week |
|---|---|---|
| Resume | Bullets say what you did, not what changed. Skills the role needs are missing, or only sit in a skills list. Columns, tables or icons scramble what an ATS reads. | Add one result to your top five bullets, show each key skill in a real bullet, and move to one column. |
| Roles you target | Your headline names a different role than the posts you apply to. Your projects use a different stack than the job asks for. One resume goes out to very different roles. | Pick one role family, word your headline the way its job posts do, and lead with the projects that match. |
| Level | As a fresher, you apply to posts asking for 2+ years. Senior roles, but no bullet shows you owned or led anything. Roles far below your experience, where you look likely to leave. | Apply where your experience fits, and show ownership in at least one bullet before you aim higher. |
What should I do this week?
Small, specific moves beat sending another fifty of the same resume. Tick them off as you go.
For the last one, use the ATS resume checker. For bullet rewrites, try the Resume Optimizer.
Is it the job market or me?
Sometimes it really is the market. Some months have fewer openings, and popular roles get far more applicants than seats. But you cannot change the market this week, and blaming it too early means sending the same resume for another month.
So Lala checks what you can change first: your resume, your targets and your level. Lala only names the market when those three look right, and shows the evidence either way. No evidence, no blame, on you or on the market.
What Lala counts as evidence
- A line quoted from your resume, with its line number
- The role you apply for versus the role your resume reads as
- The experience a role asks for versus what your resume shows
If none of these point anywhere, Lala says plainly that the cause is not clear yet.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How many applications before I should worry?
There is no magic number. What matters is fit: ten applications to roles that match your resume tell you more than a hundred scattered ones. If you have applied steadily to well-matched roles for a few weeks and heard nothing, stop sending the same resume and find the blocker first.
Is it the job market or my resume?
It can be both, but only one of them is in your hands this week. Lala checks your resume, your targets and your level first, and quotes the lines behind each finding. Lala only points at the market when all three look right, and says so plainly instead of guessing.
Should I apply for lower roles?
Usually not as a first move. Applying far below your level can make you look overqualified or likely to leave soon. Apply where your resume already fits, and fix how your resume shows your level. If you are a fresher applying to roles that ask for two or more years, that gap is the one to fix.
Do referrals help?
Yes, often a lot, because a referral puts your resume in front of a person instead of a search filter. But the person still reads it. Ask for referrals only for roles your resume clearly fits, and fix the resume first, so the referral turns into a call and not a polite no.
What does Lala need from me?
Your resume as a PDF or DOCX, the role you are applying for, and roughly how many applications you have sent. The count helps Lala judge whether silence is a pattern or early days. The file is not kept, and your result is saved privately to your account, where only you can see it.
Is the why-no-calls check free?
Only if the why-no-calls check is your first full check: every account gets one free Standard check after login. After that, each why-no-calls check costs 20 credits (30 credits for Advanced), shown before you start, and refunded if it fails. The format check is free as well, needs no login and runs in your browser.
